ressing up and dressing down at Rock en Seine fashion ranged from the stylish to the surreal. From Breton chic to Mexican wrestling masks, from custom costumes to custom-made bags, mud-caked sneakers or pristine high heels, it seemed like there were no defining “do’s”, or “don’ts”.
Oh how semi clean our Converse were before! Now covered in luminous yellow tape and disgustingly muddy they live to tell the tale of a highly eventful Lowlands 2011…
So the last night of Exit turns into morning and I – like most people who stuck out the whole weekend – haven’t slept at all…
It’s always good to be in Paris, and this weekend it was even better. This weekend we were there for Rock en Seine: A 3 day festival where 30,000 people gather on the banks of the river Seine to have a blast.
As soon as we put our tent up on the festival ground we couldn’t help but notice how diverse the Lowlands crowd is. It’s like a city on its own, inhabited by over 60,000 people for one weekend a year. And all these people are in this city for two reasons only: music and fun. Add to that some great weather and an impressive line-up, and the recipe for an awesome festival is complete.
Irwin is 17. Despite his young age, the teenager has already made several videos, including some commercial ones. He also films live concerts in festivals and directs the videoclips of the song Shyness (Thieves Like Us), Françoise (La Femme), The Summer Wasting (Venus in Furs) etc. The young video maker also seems to be interested in the art of photography.
Last month we were at the Petrovaradin fortress in Novi Sad, Serbia where the 11th edition of the Exit Festival took place. Among the 165.000 party animals were our friends Mentalgassi – so a nice opportunity to catch up with them and talk about the huge balloons they created there.
