Vermillion Sands is not just the title of a good book, it’s also the name of a really, really good Italian garage folk band.

It’s always good to be in Paris, and this weekend it was even better. This weekend we were there for Rock en Seine: A 3 day festival where 30,000 people gather on the banks of the river Seine to have a blast.

As soon as we put our tent up on the festival ground we couldn’t help but notice how diverse the Lowlands crowd is. It’s like a city on its own, inhabited by over 60,000 people for one weekend a year. And all these people are in this city for two reasons only: music and fun. Add to that some great weather and an impressive line-up, and the recipe for an awesome festival is complete.

One weekend a year Ferropolis in Germany is overrun by over 20.000 party people. Last weekend it was that time again: Time for Melt!

Summer equals festivals, and this year we will be at three great events in Europe: Melt!, Lowlands and Rock en Seine. Come join us.

What do you get when you put KiD CuDi, Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend and Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast together in the studio? We were curious as well. That’s why Converse invited them to collaborate on a new track.

Rostam Batmanglij is the multi-instrumentalist/vocalist in Vampire Weekend. He is one of the band’s songwriters, and also the band’s producer.

Kid Cudi is a Brooklyn-based rapper from Cleveland whose debut single, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” became an online favorite in 2008. Born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi in suburban Cleveland, his career took off after he moved to Brooklyn and became affiliated with Fool’s Gold.

Bethany Cosentino is a Los Angeles native with a brief stay in Brooklyn, and Best Coast’s influences reflect just that – West Coast vibe meets East Coast ‘60s girl group.
